Mary’s Meals “The Backpack Project” Appeal
Quote from Mary’s Meals website:
“Since the Backpack Project began in 2005 more than 450,000 backpacks have been sent by people across the UK and Ireland to children receiving Mary’s Meals”.
An appeal to the people of the Parish, organized by Kathleen Steyn and her daughter, Pauline, has managed to raise the funds to purchase Backpacks and fill them with essential items. Each Backpack was filled with items at an approximate cost of £20 and thanks to the hard work done by Kathleen and her daughter, Pauline, and the generosity of the people in the Parish a total of 200 Backpacks were collected and sent off for a school in Malawi.

A Quiz Night was held in the Canon Hoban Hall on Friday 7th April and raised a sum of £735 for Mary’s Meals and Children in Need.
